Delete Your Account & Data
We make it simple to remove your data from NeuroGut AI at any time.
What gets deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:
- Your name, age range, and profile information
- Your health profile responses (symptom frequency, Bristol stool baseline, medication status)
- All your recording sessions and biofeedback results
- All event logs (meals, sleep, stress, symptoms, stool entries)
- All notes, tags, and personal annotations
- Your research consent preferences
- Any anonymised recordings you contributed to research (where technically feasible — see note below)
How to delete your data — two options
Option 1: Delete from inside the app (fastest)

Open NeuroGut AI on your phone

Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete all my data

Confirm. All on-device data is immediately erased.
This option removes everything stored on your device immediately. If you have not contributed any data to research, no further action is required.
Option 2: Email request (for research-contributed data)
If you opted in to contributing your anonymised recordings to gut-brain research, send an email request to fully remove this data from our research datasets where technically possible:

Subject: Data Deletion Request
Include: the email address or account ID you used in the app, and confirm you would like all your data removed.
We will respond within 14 days with confirmation that your data has been removed from our active datasets.
How long does it take?
- On-device data: Erased immediately when you tap Delete in the app.
- Email contact list: Removed within 7 days.
- Research-contributed anonymised data: Removed from active datasets within 14 days where technically feasible.
- Anonymised data that cannot be unlinked: Once recordings are aggregated and used for ML training, individual recordings can no longer be technically traced back to a specific user. We disclose this clearly at the point you opted in to research contribution.
